The 80/20 Philosophy

Generosity
Requires
Trust

When someone gives $1.00 – or $1,000 – they are trusting us with more than money. They are trusting us to make thoughtful decisions, choose responsible partners, steward resources carefully, and show what their generosity made possible.

That’s why transparency isn’t something we add after the work is done. It’s part of how Seed Chang Collective works

Our commitment is simple: clearly communicate where resources go, responsibly invest in the infrastructure to protect them, and report what those investments accomplish.

80% – Sow: Invest in change

Our goal is to direct 80% of resources toward mission-driven community impact, including Seeds and the programmatic work required to support locally led solutions.

20% – Grow: Protect & Sustain the Work

Up to 20% supports the infrastructure necessary to operate responsibly – including financial management, compliance, technology, donor stewardship, fundraising, communications, monitoring, reporting, governance, and organizational sustainability.

Why This Model Differs

Our commitment is comfortably above a widely recognized accountability benchmark for programmatic giving.

Small Donations. Big Impact.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) Wise Giving Alliance’s Standards for Charity Accountability establishes 65% of total expenses on program activities as its minimum program-expense standard.
